First experience with Canon G11
Posted by: Pawel on Apr 28, 2010
In November of 2009 I had my first dive with my new Canon G11 and the WP-DC34 factory underwater housing. I’ve been extremely satisfied with my results as an amateur.
First day I was diving in “Newport” and “Smokey’s” dive sites.
There are a few lessons that I learned during first dive, I will have to experiment with settings and focus modes to improve quality of pictures. On my first day I was using fully automatic “underwater” mode and expected many good pictures. I was little disappointed after first day of diving. The next day I played with some settings and set up a shortcut for white balance on my camera. I used white board to set up white balance during my diving on my second day in the “Saba” reef and the “Corner” reef .I was happy with the results.
For the rest of my dives in Curacao, depending on the depth of the diving, I was only adjusting white balance on my G11 camera to take pictures. I took a lot of good pictures of Tugboat, French Angelfish, Jaw Fish and Hawksbill Turtles and many more of beautiful Giant Brain corals, vase sponges, orange Elephant Ear sponges, Morey Eels and…..
